Mercy Health Foundation board member Sister Noeline
Banks, RSM knows St. Joseph’s Mercy. A Sisters of Mercy
teacher and school administrator for nearly 47 years,
Sister Noeline developed a fondness for St. Joseph’s as a
16-year-old Mount St. Mary’s student while routinely
driving Sisters from Little Rock to the hospital for
retreats. Her affection has grown over the years,
beginning with the compassionate care her mother
received after being hospitalized for a stroke.
“The love and care my mother received during that time was
nothing short of remarkable,” said Sister Noeline, assistant
principal at Hot Springs’ St. John’s Catholic School, where
she has spent the last 27 years. “I am delighted to now be
serving on the Mercy Health Foundation board. I wasn’t sure
what role I could fill, but soon realized that I might offer a
Mercy presence. Sisters of Mercy foundress Mother
Catherine McAuley always said, ‘only the best for those who
entrust themselves to us for care.’ We have some of the best
doctors and nurses, so our job as a board it to provide them
with the very best tools to carry out their mission.”
